My dream of seeing SCB transform into AIIMS PLUS Institution: Odisha CM
Bhubaneswar: It is my dream that no one from Odisha is forced to come out for better medical treatment. We will provide the best in SCB. For 75 years SCB has supported us – now it’s our turn to give it back, Chief Minister Shri Naveen Patnaik envisioned his dream for SCB today during the Platinum Jubilee celebration at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.
Joining the celebration via videoconference as the guest of honor, the CM said the number of lives saved by this institution and its alumni is unmatched. The service rendered to humanity by SCB is unprecedented and in particular to the people of Odisha.
“That is why my dream is to see SCB transform into an AIIMS PLUS institution – to have cutting edge technology in medical services – to deliver the best of modern medical science,” he said. The people of Odisha deserve this, he added.
The Chief Minister said that Odisha is today known for many glorious achievements. But there was a time when Odisha was not so well known. But even at that time – a beacon of excellence – the BADA – DATKARA KHANA stood out – known for its professionalism for quality and affordable health care for both the rich and the poor, for the commitment of doctors.
Welcoming thousands of alumni who are here to celebrate the most glorious moments of their lives – their college years, the Chief Minister said SCB alumni have been Odisha’s ambassadors across the country. world – Manhattan to Tokyo – Odia Doctors at SCB have carried the philosophy of selfless service across the country and the world.
The chief minister said that the recently launched BSKY which provides health insurance to 96 lakh families through Odisha, the establishment of eight new government medical colleges, our response to the challenge of Covid, all of this shows the strong commitment of my government to transform health care in Odisha.
The CM added that the SCB will play a key role in this transformation. It will take its place as one of the best institutions in the country for medical care and health education, he proclaimed.
At first, he offered his homage to Maharaja Sri Rama Chandra Bhanja Deo who contributed to the growth of this institution.
During the service, the Chief Minister unveiled the Platinum Jubilee Monument and published a collection.
